The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, is in Kyiv today, Sunday October 4, where he will meet with the President of Ukraine, V. Zelensky.
«I traveled to Kyiv today because Ukraine needs all our support in the coming weeks», stated Merz, who is in the Ukrainian capital accompanied by heads of German defense industry companies, in a show of support toward Ukrainian President Zelensky.
Merz noted that Russian forces are bombing cities, residential buildings, and power generation plants, emphasizing that «if we do not stop Russia, sooner or later its war machine will turn against us».
«I will say to President Zelensky today: you can continue to rely on our help», stated the German Chancellor, who, according to the dpa news agency, will promise Ukraine the provision of long-range weapons and interceptor drones.
